○1973: Graduated from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT).
○1973-: Entered the Japan Patent Office, where he worked as patent examiner/appeal examiner in the field of polymer processing, applied chemistry, textile technology, medical science etc.
○1979-1980: Studied law at University of Munich and German and European Patent Law at Max-Planck-Institute for Intellectual Property Law in Germany.
○1992: Registered as a patent attorney.
○1992-1995: Joined a Swiss Chemical Company, where he worked there as Head of its Japan Office.
